Buying from InHand

7 questions

Are the items sold at InHand authentic?

Yes. Every item sold at InHand is authenticated by our team before it goes on sale — we deal in 100% original sneakers, streetwear, and collectibles only, never replicas. Each item carries an InHand hang tag or a sticker on the shoe wrapper. Removing the tag voids any authenticity claim.

Authentication is the foundation of our consignment model — buyers and sellers both rely on it, so nothing is listed until it has been checked.

Where is InHand located, and can I shop online?

InHand is a physical store at Unit 21A, Beckham House, 7A Beckham Street, Gardens, Cape Town, 8001. You can shop in person, online at inhand.co.za, or through the InHand app on iOS and Android. Orders are delivered across South Africa and internationally, or you can collect from the store.

Does InHand deliver across South Africa?

Yes. InHand delivers nationwide across South Africa to your door via our courier partner, The Courier Guy, with three domestic shipping options priced by location. We also ship internationally via DHL Express, on average 3–6 working days. You receive a confirmation email when we get your order, and tracking once it's dispatched.

International delivery can take 5–15 days depending on your country's customs and regulatory authority, and import duties and taxes aren't included at checkout. All orders ship in protective packaging.

What payment methods does InHand accept?

InHand accepts all major cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), digital wallets (Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay), instant EFT and open banking (Capitec Pay, Pay by Bank, and Peach EFT for Absa, Nedbank, FNB, Standard Bank, Investec and TymeBank), and Buy Now, Pay Later — both online and in-store.

Can I buy through the InHand app?

Yes. The InHand app is free on the Apple App Store and Google Play. It puts the full in-store and online range in one place, shows live stock and sizing, sends drop notifications, and lets you check out securely from your phone.

What is InHand's return, refund and exchange policy?

It depends on the item. Most stock is marketplace (consignment) inventory, which is final sale — no returns, refunds, or exchanges — though we'll gladly re-list it for you on consignment to sell again. Retail items tagged 'Local Brand' or 'Retail' can be exchanged or refunded within 3 days if unworn, tagged, and in original packaging.

Each product page states which policy applies. For damaged, defective, or incorrect items, contact us within 2 days of delivery. Retail refunds are processed within 10–14 business days to your original payment method, and it's the customer's responsibility to return the item to our store.

How do I choose the right sneaker size?

Each listing shows the available size in UK sizing. Sneaker fit varies by brand and model, so if you're unsure how a UK size converts or how a particular pair fits, message us for advice before you buy.

Selling & Consignment

4 questions

How does selling with InHand (consignment) work?

Consignment means you bring InHand your authentic sneakers, streetwear, or collectibles, and we sell them for you — in-store, online, and in the app. You keep ownership until an item sells; once it does, you're paid the sale price less commission. We handle authentication, listing, and the sale.

Apply at sellersportal.inhand.co.za.

You can track everything — what's listed, what's sold, and your payouts — through the InHand consignor portal and app.

What commission does InHand charge consignors?

InHand's commission depends on the item: 18% on new sneakers, 22% on used sneakers, 22% on accessories and clothing, 25% on used accessories and clothing, and 30% on local brands. You receive the sale price less commission once your item sells. Apply to consign at sellersportal.inhand.co.za, or email support@inhand.co.za.

When and how do I get paid for consigned items?

You're paid once your item sells, by EFT to your bank account, for the sale price less commission. Payouts are made within 3–4 days, though public holidays or other processing issues can occasionally cause a delay. You can track every sale and payout through the InHand consignor portal and app.

What can I consign or sell to InHand?

InHand accepts authentic, in-demand sneakers, streetwear, and collectibles in new or good pre-owned condition. Everything is authenticated before listing, and we may advise on pricing or decline items based on demand or condition. Apply and submit items at sellersportal.inhand.co.za, or reach us at support@inhand.co.za.

Sourcing, Brands & Trust

3 questions

Can InHand source a specific item for me?

Yes. If you're after a specific sneaker, size, or hard-to-find release, InHand can source it for you, including rare and limited drops. Send the details through the app, the website, or a DM, and we'll come back to you on availability and price.

What brands does InHand carry?

InHand carries premium sneakers, streetwear, and accessories from the brands collectors want — including Nike, Jordan, adidas, Yeezy, and New Balance, plus limited collaborations and curated local labels. Stock changes constantly, so the live range is always on our website and app.

Is InHand a trusted sneaker store?

Yes. InHand is an established Cape Town sneaker and streetwear retailer known for 100% authentic, original-only stock, with every item authenticated and tagged before sale. We run a physical store you can visit in Gardens, and you can read genuine customer reviews on Google and across our X (@inhand_store) feed.
